Seascale is building support for community-defined work in the Coral Triangle: field testing, local stewardship, language access, and the maintenance that helps a useful tool survive beyond its first grant.
This website does not take card payments. Funding is arranged directly so the intended use, responsible parties, safeguards, and reporting can be agreed before any contribution is made.
What support pays for

A first version is only useful if people can operate it, understand it, repair it, and decide what happens next.

Equipment, travel, testing, and practical adjustments that help a useful idea work in coastal conditions.
Local time and stewardship
Training, coordination, and paid time for the people who review, operate, and care for the work locally.
Language and access
Translation and low-connectivity ways of working so records and instructions remain usable in the field.
Maintenance
Repairs, documentation, hosting, and adaptation after an initial pilot, when continuity matters most.

Before funding moves, Seascale confirms responsibilities, permissions, intended use, budget boundaries, and how sensitive information will be handled.

Fund a bounded piece of work
Support is tied to a clear stage, such as field discovery, a first prototype, translation, training, or maintenance.

Set the reporting expectation
The responsible parties agree what can be reported, when an update is useful, and which details must remain local or private.

Seascale will confirm the intended use, payment route, any restrictions, responsible people or organisations, reporting cadence, and the treatment of receipts directly with you. The site does not claim tax deductibility or charity status that has not been verified for your jurisdiction.
